the lever audio amplifier
I started building the amplifier in 2019; the ambition was to create an “Italian” object with an original design, standing out for elegance/functionality/sound quality and representing a paradigm shift in the music world.
Specifically, it is a 6+1 multichannel integrated audio amplifier (expandable in hi-end versions to more channels) with a total power of about 280 Watts RMS, able to give full control over songs.
Each lever controls a volume, enabling on-the-fly “demix” that no motorized fader or knob can provide. A general master volume lowers or raises all 6 channels proportionally while keeping the balance of the other levers intact; it’s like having an old-school analog mixer but with the responsiveness and tactility of a real musical instrument.
Through audio files compiled by me, only instrumental/vocal tracks are used, with no EQ, mixing or mastering processes; the listener places 6+1 speakers in the room and creates a “live” stage where instruments and voices reach the listener separately, clearly and “coherently”.
This type of setup makes it possible to exclude all those electroacoustic phenomena that challenge classic hi-fi and achieves surprising sonic realism, even with inexpensive speakers.
The architecture and operating philosophy create a new sound experience similar to a "unplugged or chamber" performance, which I defined as “ Coherent home theater ”.
It is possible to bypass the internal amplifiers and send the sound to external amplifiers while maintaining total control over the tracks.
In the front section, defined as “piano”, the advanced controls are installed; finally, on the rear there are also 6 audio inputs to connect and play with your own band.
For the prototype I used wood and reclaimed materials; for the electronics I used already-assembled circuits or ones made by me; there are small defects typical of an object born to be tested and only later refined.
Compatibility with older audio formats is always guaranteed.
Finally, there is a remote control to manage some controls.
